About the Central and West Jutland Police prosecution service
Geographically, the Central and West Jutland Police District is Denmark's largest police district. It serves more than half a million inhabitants and comprises 11 local authority districts: Ikast-Brande, Silkeborg, Ringkøbing-Skjern, Herning, Holstebro, Viborg, Skive, Lemvig, Struer, Thisted, and Morsø.
The headquarters of the Central and West Jutland Police District are located in Holstebro, where the prosecution service is also based. There are six other local police stations in Ringkøbing, Herning, Viborg, Silkeborg, Skive, and Thisted. The prosecution service conducts criminal proceedings before the Courts of Holstebro, Herning, and Viborg.
The Central and West Jutland Police prosecution service has around 60 staff members, organised in two prosecution divisions. In addition to cases from the local police stations, each deals with cases within its own specialised areas: Court cases and Legality and Quality. The prosecution division of Court cases deals with all criminal cases.
