About the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police prosecution service

The South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police District serves approximately 400,000 inhabitants and covers seven local authority districts: Slagelse, Næstved, Faxe, Sorø, Vordingborg, Guldborgsund, and Lolland.
The headquarters are located in Næstved, where the prosecution service is also based. In addition, there are four local police stations in Slagelse, Vordingborg, Nykøbing Falster, and Nakskov. The district also includes an immigration control department in Maribo as well as three investigation departments and a traffic department in Vordingborg.

The South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police prosecution service has around 60 staff members, organised in three prosecution divisions and a secretariat that is responsible for the administration related to our work.

The Prosecution Division for General Cases deals with cases from the district's local police stations, while the Prosecution Division for Special Cases deals with non-criminal law cases as well as major cases being investigated by the district's investigation departments in Vordingborg. The Prosecution Division for Quality and Legality is responsible for quality and legality assurance in the district. The Prosecution Service conducts criminal proceedings before two courts: the Court of Næstved and the Court of Nykøbing Falster.
